Hyacinthoides non-scripta
The Bluebell (Hyacinthoides non-scripta) is a perennial plant that is 20 to 40 centimeters tall. It is a plant growing in the Atlantic environment. It is a semi-shade plant preferring slightly acidic soils and deep sandy loam. Its colorful flowers of a dark blue or purple tend to fall in the shape of a bell. The Bluebell is an ornamental flower with a subtle sweet fragrance. The wood hyacinth can be used in borders, associated with other bulbs that bloom in the spring like small varieties of daffodils, but also at the feet of your shrubs or even to animate a shaded lawn. The wood hyacinth is classified as a protected species in certain regions of France, particularly on the periphery of its range where it may be less common (Center, Lot-et-Garonne, Limousin, ...), as well as in Belgium.
