Passiflora biflora – Twoflowered Passionflower

Passiflora biflora, commonly known as Twoflowered Passionflower, is a delicate, fast-growing vine native to Central America. It is prized for its elegant, twin-flowered blooms and its ability to quickly cover trellises, fences, or arbors with lush, green foliage.

This species produces small, creamy white to pale purple flowers, often appearing in pairs—hence the name "biflora." Each bloom features the characteristic intricate structure of passionflowers, attracting bees and butterflies. Though the flowers are smaller than those of more ornamental passionflower species, they are abundant and charming.

Passiflora biflora thrives in tropical and subtropical climates and can be grown in greenhouses or containers in cooler regions. It prefers full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. In warmer areas, it may remain evergreen year-round.
