It grows in different kinds of habitats including winter wet zones, inland rocky areas, or deep sand. D. macrantha produces cup-shaped carnivorous leaves along a stem that can reach 5 feet high as it climbs. It also produces 1 inch white or pink flowers that emerge from June to November. However, flowering times will vary depending on local weather conditions.
