Ficus elastica, commonly known as the Rubber Tree or Indian Rubber Fig, is an evergreen tropical tree prized for its large, glossy leaves and impressive adaptability. Native to Southeast Asia, this species is widely grown as an ornamental plant, both indoors and outdoors in warm climates.
In its natural habitat, the Rubber Tree can reach heights of up to 30 meters (100 feet), but when cultivated indoors, it remains much smaller and serves as an excellent houseplant. The thick, leathery leaves are deep green with a hint of burgundy, adding an exotic touch to any space.
Easy to grow, Ficus elastica thrives in well-drained soil with moderate watering and bright, indirect light. It is an excellent air purifier and a striking addition to both homes and tropical gardens.
