Nassella Tenuissima known as Mexican Feather Grass and formerly Stipa Tenuissima is native to Mexico, Texas, Argentina and Chile. The Mexican Feather Grass is a great plant for mass planting. Its green foliage is 45-60cm (18-24") tall. These hair-like pony tails wave gracefully in the wind. Nassella Tenuissima is popular as an ornemental plant. Drought tolerant once established. Needs full sun and in any poor soil that is medium to light, well drained, and moderately fertile at best. Nassella Tenuissima grows quickly and blooms the first year from seed so it can be grown as an annual. Plants from seed will reach maturity in 2 to 5 years Hardiness zone: 7-10
