C'est l'un des arbres favoris pour la culture de bonsaï, puisque son tronc grossit rapidement et que son tronc et ses branches ont une apparence tordue naturelle.
Au début du Printemps le Taxus est en fleurs, et à la fin de l'Été les fruits apparaissent. L'arbre est en feuilles toute l'année, en fleurs de Mars à Avril et les semences sont libérées de Septembre à Novembre.
