Connue sous le nom de Drosera fourchette, il est facile de comprendre pourquoi la Drosera binata rouge a obtenu ce nom. Les longues feuilles droites forment un "Y" à leur extrémité. Les tiges peuvent atteindre 20" de haut et plus, et se divisent dans la partie supérieure.
Du printemps à l’été, la vigne produit plusieurs fleurs fragrantes, de 12 cm de long, parmi les feuilles pendantes. Les fleurs attrapent les insectes, ce qui facilite la fécondation.
